Menu items are hidden depending on whether you are logged in or whether certain functions of the phone are permitted, for example.

01 – Current service provider (if more than one provider is registered, the list can be expanded and a provider selected). The color symbolizes:
green – connected to the service online
amber – no connection to the service but data from cache
red – service connection failed and no cache data

02 – Serviceaccount, wobei die Farbe bedeutet:
green – user logged in
amber – user logged in but not connected (cache)
red – user login failed (no cache)

03 – Add new service provider

04 – Register account for the selected service provider

05 – Show list of current and future bookings
(Only visible when logged in)

06 – You can use the filter to restrict the display to items with certain properties.
(Only visible if the service offers filters)

07 – Reloads the data from the service provider or from the cache

08 – Drop-down menu for map properties

09 – Centers the map so that all stations are visible

10 – Displays the current location on the map
(Only visible if the device has positioning and this has been enabled for the app)

11 – Show or hide buttons for zooming the map (+/-)

12 – If a position is displayed (location (10) or address (14)), a circle is displayed as the distance radius around this point

13 – An address whose position is displayed on the map can be entered here.

If the app is connected to a service, the available stations of the provider are displayed on the map with a bicycle sign symbol.

If you tap on one of the symbols on the map, you will receive an overview of this station and its items.

The elements of the pop-up are clickable and display different information in each case:

The pop-up shows the availability of the item for the next six days.

The stations are displayed as symbols (01). The active station is displayed as a red bicycle symbol (02).

¹ The following selection options are available:
Last service/user (online) => The app attempts to re-establish the last online connection
Last service/user (offline) => The app does not go over the network but loads the last known data from the cache
None => The app starts without an initial action

² Basically, the app tries to wait for a network request until a response or a timeout is canceled by the device. It is possible that this can lead to extremely long waiting times on some devices before the app realizes that it is not receiving a response. In this case, you can use this setting to specify a maximum waiting period in seconds for the app.

Option1: After the new registration of a service provider

If you have registered a new service provider and tap on “Save” (5) in the dialog, the dialog for registering a user is then opened automatically.

Note:
It is not absolutely necessary to register a user. If you do not wish to do so, you can simply cancel the register user dialog.

Option2: Register user Dialog via main menu

If you have selected a service provider in the main menu, you can use the menu item “New account” to register a user for this provider in the app.

Click the “New” button under “Account(s)” to open the dialog box for entering the user’s data

Register user (account)

To register, you need the login name and login password from the service provider. These correspond to your login details on the website.
(Note: in exceptional cases it is also possible that you receive the application password separately from the service provider, in which case you do not need the login password)

Enter the data in the dialog, where Display name is optional.

Es gib zwei Möglichkeiten einen Serviceprovider für die App zu registrieren, über das Menü oder über den Einstellungen Dialog.

A service provider is a rental organization that offers public domain items via a web platform. Such a web platform can be accessed via a unique url (link). In order to be able to access the offers with the app, the platform must fulfill the following requirements:

• The platform is operated with the CommonsBooking plugin
• To display the offers:
  the CommonsAPI (part of CommonsBooking) is activated and freely accessible
• For booking and managing bookings:
  A login to the website and installation of the “API for CB App” plugin.

There are two ways to register a service provider for the app, via the menu or via the settings dialog.

Option1: Service provider dialog via menu

Select the “New service” menu item to open the dialog box for entering the service provider’s data.

Option2: Service provider dialog via settings

Click the “New” button under “Edit service” to open the dialog box for entering the service provider’s data.

03 – Name displayed in the app for this provider

04 – Cancel without saving the entries

05 – Save the service data and continue to register account

Test connection

You can have the app test whether the url to the service provider can be reached and which access options (interfaces) it supports.

To do this, enter the url in “Register service” or via the “Edit service” settings and tap on “Test connection” (02).

Bookings cannot be made in offline mode. Accordingly, the availability calendar is displayed in read-only mode.

The booking list is also available in read-only mode, i.e. the information can be viewed but a booking cannot be canceled (the time at which the data was last updated is displayed in the top line).

You can tell whether the app is in offline mode by the fact that the icon next to the main menu button has changed. The date and time when the data was last loaded online is also displayed there.
